How long before giving up hope?
My mother died earlier this year, and she was the glue that was our family. My family lives in the U.S. and I'm in Canada. When my mother died a few members of my family have shown their true color (including the origin of a scene at the funeral). I did the smart thing and cut people in my life, but in doing so, I am far from their families. Today is my birthday, and none of my blood relatives of calls / messages Text / email me, nothing. Should I put in more effort? I sent flowers to the fruits of their birthday, wedding gifts, birthday gifts and up. I do that is fair that I go out of my way for them and get nothing in return, not even a text Happy B-Day? I have a nice living here, I have a wonderful husband work, well, I volunteer for the Red Cross, big house, my great pets, I remove my old life and focus on my new life?
